Grading Framework

WYG Hawai‘i has developed one of the earliest structured grading systems within contemporary glass, translating key attributes of the work into a consistent evaluative format.

Each piece is assessed across core criteria:

• Clarity & Visual Integrity — Surface finish and absence of structural imperfections
• External Symmetry — Balance and proportional accuracy of the overall form
• Internal Geometric Precision — Accuracy and alignment of internal pattern work
• Craftsmanship & Execution — Technical control under heat and construction integrity
• Color Rarity — Availability and uniqueness of the materials used
• Color Difficulty — Technical challenge associated with executing the selected color system
